I have been training with BBG for almost three years now and had got to the stage where I felt I needed a bit more of a challenge. Then Richard joined BBG. I have been going to his Strength and Conditioning class on a Thursday evening ever since and I haven’t looked back.
Richard is an absolute delight to be trained by. He is clear, concise and very hot on technique, which is perfect for me as I constantly forget what I am supposed to be doing! He makes it quite clear that we should all find the class hard, not easy, as otherwise there is absolutely no point in turning up. He also logs our progress each week and expects us to improve, no excuses.
The class is very different from all others at BBG, because it involves lifting, amongst other strength and conditioning exercises. This is tricky to pull off when you have a mixture of genders, strengths and expertise. Somehow it works though and we all end up supporting and encouraging each other, which I find incredibly rewarding. Richard expertly spreads his attention amongst everyone, correcting technique and taking over spotting, when any of us are attempting a new PB.
In a nut shell Richard as a trainer and what he delivers, encompasses everything I want from a class and more. I personally think there should be more classes like this, incorporating the art of ‘lifting’ and teaching clients how to achieve good form. This is something I really want to be good at, but unfortunately I just need constant instruction!
I would highly recommend Richard to anyone who wants to work hard and achieve results.
What else do you need?
